Some of us may be lucky enough to have a family member's trunk passed down through the generations -- maybe they brought our relatives possessions on their transatlantic journey to America, or maybe they've just been sitting in Grandma's attic for years and years. One thing is for sure, while they may have been made to last, they're not usually very attractive. Years of use and abuse can take their toll. We may not want to lose a part of our ancestry, but the thought of a beat-up, smelly trunk in our home is not very appealing. While it may compromise its antique value, we can make your old trunk a nice piece of furniture for your home (with great storage potential) plus you'll be displaying a piece of your family heritage.
Trunk refurbishing costs vary with each trunk dependent on size, condition, interior trunk design, and how much labor and how many replacement parts are involved. In order to give an accurate estimate of refurbishing costs, it will be necessary for us to see the trunk. Estimates are free of charge if you would like to bring your trunk to us. Please use our contact form or call for an appointment. If your trunk is outside of our immediate area and cannot be brought to us, we will need a picture of each side of the trunk and a picture of the inside. Should you decide to ship the trunk to us for refurbishing, the shipping costs to and from will be up to you.
Costs are estimates for initial refurbishing. We reserve the right to charge additional should the trunk require extensive repair, stripping, rust removal, or anything that requires many hours of additional time.
Trunks left for more than 10 days after notification of completion will be charged a $5 per week storage fee.
